I picked this up for a fiver off ebay last year. ;D From what I've read it sounds like a nice kit so I started it a couple of weeks ago. So far I've done some work on the engine and given the bodyshell some primer. I haven't decided on a colour yet but I have been testing a few on some cheap plastic spoons I bought. At the moment it's a toss up between the blue and green. I may use the purple on the '63 Impala I've got for Telford.

I've just got one through the post - thinking of using it to build a replica of my old V8 Pilot, bustle boot and all.

I decided to go for the purple so it was out into the garden after work for a quick spray. Hmm.. purple Fords seem to be the only thing I build. ;D It makes a nice contrast to the chrome. The kits tyres had heavy seam lines on them and weren't a very good fit on the wheels so I'm thinking of using a set from a Revell '70 Boss Mustang. I'll get a better idea of how it'll look when I get the suspension fitted.

mmmm..I've had a rethink. Turning the 2 door '37 sedan into a 4 door Pilot may prove to be more work than it's worth. Besides the Pilot was based on earlier '36 panels, unfortunately there aren't any '36 sedan kits out there to my knowledge. But I suppose we all have had great ideas that never make it into reality?

I've had to do some surgery on the rear wheels as they didn't fit inside the arches when the axle was in place. Here are the wheels, modified one on the right. It's still a close thing but it just fits inside now. Hopefully I won't have the same problem at the front end. I gave it a couple of coats of Halfords Clear Lacquer this afternoon. I'm not sure how well it shows up in the photo but I think the shine looks really good. This is the best paint finish I've ever had on a car model and I'm really pleased with how it's going so far. It certainly makes a change from the camouflage I've been used to painting.

This has been on the back burner for a few months as despite my best efforts the rear tyres still fouled the arches slightly. The answer to my problem came with the purchase of another '37 Ford which fortunately had better quality tyres which meant I could use the kit wheels. As I'd already done some surgery on the rear suspension of the original chassis I've built up the new chassis, swapped the engine and exhausts over and fitted the wheels. The plan for the other kit is to widen the rear fenders to clear the Mustang wheels and a two tone paint job.

The interior has been sprayed and BMF applied to the details on the door trim panels. My first attempt at flocking hasn't turn out as well as I planned but it won't be too noticeable in a '37 Ford. Good job it wasn't a convertible. ;D

That's looking good. You should be able to paint over the flocking if you're not happy with it, it will still leave a nicely textured finish.

A bit more progress. The interior has been assembled and fitted to the floorpan. I am having trouble fitting the side windows as they are moulded flat and the bodyshell is curved. I did get one to stay in place with a clamp but the other one wasn't having it. I may try and make replacements from acetate sheet.
