Hi, I thought I'd do something different for the '32 theme so I am using a Repicas and Minatures of Maryland cabriolet body. Since these were imported into England I've also decided to build it rhd as well. I have completed all the painting, polishing etc so am onto construction. The prostreet pickup wasn't going to get completed in time so that has been put on hold and I am fairly confident I can get this cabriolet done for our table. I've really been enjoying looking at other people's '32s - so keep them going guys! Anyway here is a few pictures of the body and interior: The paint is Ford Fiesta Hot Magenta (mixed by Zero) with Zero interior beige one on the top and interior. The interior also has some photoetch from Model Car Garage and maroon flocking by Detail Master.

That's looking good already. I was going to paint mine that colour, but then I found an old can of the VW colour in the garage (tight bugger ).

Hi Guys, I'm managing to get this project together using parts left over from other builds and my aftermarket stash. The only parts I had to buy specifically for this project are the resin body, some disc rotors and resin calipers. The chassis and the fenders came from a started kit I bought cheap from Collectakit at SMW a few years ago. The chassis had been poorly prepared, painted and partially assembled. The paint stripping and rebuild haven't turned out too bad. Here's a couple pictures of the completed basic chassis: Cheers,

Hi Guys, Some progress to report on the cabriolet - the engine is now done, the chassis is virtually complete and I'm onto assembling the bodywork and fittings. My aim of having it done for a show on the 10th might actually be realised... The engine is the small block Ford that somes with all the Revell '32 kits (I think!) with a dual 4 barrel carb intake manifold and topped, obviously, with dual carbs (both from Replicas and Minatures of Maryland). I adapted the carbs by using some plastic tube to take the chrome air cleaners meant for the hemi in the '32 5 window kit (same kit also provided the custom valve covers). Detail Master ignition wiring and looms were also added: The chassis just needs the fenders and bumpers now: A quick mock-up to get some idea of how the final project might turn out: Hope everybody has a great weekend! Cheers,

"Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland". Ah yes, if ever there was a resin caster designed to frustrate and delight by equal measures.
It's run by a guy called Norm and they turn out the best resin stuff there is. No discussion. It's fairly priced, turn around is quick and there are always new items being turned out - the range of stuff he has for the Revell '32's is mind boggling.
Problem is he doesn't, and won't, operate on-line. Not now, no way, never, it just isn't what he wants to do.
There are a few dealers who carry his stuff but the range is so big (the catalogue is over 50 pages) I don't think anyone but Norm has the full range. Minimum order is $30 (trust me, that's all too easy to run up) and the catalogue is $5. If you want the catalogue I'd give him a ring (he is a really nice guy) and ask him if it's OK to send cash - the ads ask for a check or money order but that's no use for us UK types. His number is 001 410 768 3648 and there's about a six hour time difference.
Address is: 317 Roosevelt Avenue, SW Glen Burnie, MD 21061, USA.
Tell him Harley sent you.

Hi,
The colour of the block is a blue I got mixed up for my Speedwagon by Zero paints. It is meant to be a shade of Ford engine blue - there were quite a few shades over the years so it can be difficult to track down the exact one sometimes but this looks right which is enough by me. I thought that yellow ignition wires would contrast nicely with both the engine colour and body colour.
Harley has filled you in on Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland. I have a couple copies of his catalog so I'll bring one to SMW next weekend. I usually e-mail him with my order and then use the phone to give him credit card details. The body used in this project was mastered for Norm by Lyle Willets (there's going to be a profile on Lyle in the next Scale Auto Magazine).
Cheers,
