Started this one a good couple of years ago, totally abandoned it soon after . I dragged it out earlier this year determined to finish it, and here it is. It is of course AMT's classic Merc kit. The front suspension is from the Little Red Wagon, the front chassis is scratchbuilt and the engine is from AMT's '59 El Camino. The engine has basic wiring and plumbing. The rear suspension is jacked up so the slicks clear the body. Wheels and tyres are from the Parts box. The interior has a '49 Ford rollcage, custom seats from the '57 Ford kit and a Corvette steering wheel. The body has most of the chrome trim removed, rolled rear pan, frenched headlights and custom Caddy tail lights. The paint is Aztec Gold with a Blaze Yellow lace stripe down the middle. The car is named "Fools Gold" after a Thin Lizzy song, as I think you'd have to be a fool to build and race this!!
