After Lee and I had our loft meeting last Friday I'm inspired again. So today I spent an afternoon whittling plastic. Decided to do another low n slow this time on the truly awful AMT '57 BelAir. When first released this kit had a load of lovely Styline bits in it and lots of options. When they re released it they raped it of all those bits and put it out with just a stock build option which sort of left it in a real state. Add to that the state of the remaining parts and you've a real dog of a kit. Snake may disagree with my assessment of it but each to their own. I'm opting to build it as a low rider de chromed and heavily moded. This image shows the bodywork as per the box. The black lines show all the trims to be removed. With the basic trims removed with a blade and then sanded out coarsely it looks like this. I'm removing the bonnet strakes and I'll add a centre scoop later. I've blocked the interior to the chassis so I can work out the ride height. Any observations or suggestions will be gratefully received THC
