As I have confirmation this counts... My build is almost finished ;D Actually, I bought it a few months ago off ebay (99p plus postage) with a view to a rat rod. However, having now Googled it, I didn't know lil' John Buttera had died (within a few weeks of Boyd Coddington ) so now I'm thinking keep it as is with a rebuild.......hmmm

Topside looks pretty complete in the picture and I'm guessing someone around here will have some spare parts if you need them!

It is very dusty but the paint isn't too bad. However the carrier film on the decals has yellowed quite badly so I'm still thinking of a repaint at least. I was thinking Rat Rod but that would mean losing the independant suspension and fenders and changing the wheels so now I am thinking more along the lines of a rebuild. The parts are pretty much falling off so i think I'll strip it back as much as I can and rebuild. watch this space! (actually, don't - you may fall unconcious waiting ) edit... just googled the kit and mine has different wheels and is a different colour so will be built as a 'tribute' i.e. my colours but with repro decals www.gasolinealleyantiques.com/kits/images/CarRevell/revell-h1343-26t.JPG

I'm presuming the 'carpet' on this was done with fuzzy fur. I've never used it and it looked a bit bare so I airbrushed Tamiya dark grey over it... I'm going two-tone so I've sprayed the fenders black. I have got all the wheels off now and the chassis is in a tub with oven cleaner at the moment, hopefully to remove the pain, chrome and glue!! ;D

Ok, got it out of the box. The body is Tamiya gunmetal I had done a while ago. I painted the inside tamiya dark grey. The door panels are just Halfords primer. Roof semi gloss tamiya The engine and gearbox are in Mr Muscle before repaint! I did want to remove the backplates to the wheels to make the slots see through but that would mean fabricating an inner wheel so instad I painted the insides black to give the wheels more depth Chassis was painted gloss black then I used rubber cement to mask all but the suspension and painted alclad. However the rubber was stronger than I thought and as I tried to remove it, I kept breaking bits on the suspension! Superglue to the rescue ;D
