Nice work so far Steve. If the body can sit that low once complete you will have a really 'hot' piece. Looking forward to seeing progress

Really nice work Steve - what is your preferred moulding/filler ?

That's really smooth. I take it with the kick up in the rear of the chassis, and the channelled body, the pick up bed is pretty much redundant now?

ok, just a got a set of Hoppin Hydros wheels, and for me, I think they look better on here than the Diablos. I generally use Isopon Metallic filler, it sands really smooth. The floor is still there with just enough room for the electrics, maybe. ;D ;D I have started doing the suspension, which will be an air ride system. All of the suspension will be scratchbuilt, with the air bags being hand formed from Chemiwood (Modelboard). I planned alot out on paper first, working out the track width, wheel and tyre width etc. Hopefully this will make it easy even though the wheels have to be modified slightly, the material that makes up the hub needs to be trimmed. thanks for looking.

I love the scratchbuilt front suspension, very clever.

got the chassis almost done, just the engine mounts to do, but here I have the front and rear suspension pinned in, just to check that everything is in line and level. By metalhead6464 at 2012-04-13 steve

well after a two week break, (helping a friend build a model for a TV ad) i am back on this. started doing the dash, out of chemiwood. got the inner wheel wells done, well almost, and used body filler to secure a good fit between the interior and exterior door panels. the same was done for the inner sills and door jams. i placed packing tape on one part, and applied filler to the other, mated them together then put aside to set. once set, pealed the tape away, which released the filled part. By metalhead6464 at 2012-05-05 thanks for looking in. steve
