Last Sunday, while helping out on the SIGs stand at Huddersfield, one of the guys mentioned Chrome embossing powder, available at Hobbycraft.
I rang them to-day but was told they didn't do chrome but did do silver!!
Is it the same stuff??

I know Hobbylink Japan sell chrome embossing powder.
I'd be surprised if Hobbycraft stocked the stuff as it's marketed specifically at kit modellers and the Hobbycraft stores I've been to don't carry much modelling stuff.
I'd be pleased to be wrong though as Hobbylink Japan seem to have supply problems, and the instructions are in Japanese!

Harley we were talking about two different things.
Gin Seung Chrome powder from Japan is a buff applied material.
Embossing powder is a heat activated chroming powder for the card making fraternity that I'm experimenting with as an on going thing.
I shall report back on it when I have perfected the technique.

"Heat activated chroming powder"?
My other half is a keen card maker, I shall have to investigate whether she's been holding out on me.....again.....

Well I tried it on some scrap material and whilst initial results looked promising the heat involved was just too severe for modern plastics. I now have a very shiny but very bent spare bumper for my '61 Galaxie.
