'62 Bel Air & Bel Air Trailer...

Hi all,

I have just finished my first build for many, many years and thought I'd share it with you all...

I started with 2 Bel Air kits, both missing parts, so thought I could make one model from the two of them...









I have used the front seats and dash from a Corvette, the carpet is sticky back felt...











Break lines are made from twisted copper wire...



I used a plaster for the roof lining and gave it a coat of white paint...





My first time using flock...



Trailer, I removed the fuel tank and boot floor pan and replaced it with some Evergreen plastic and filler...







And this is the finished model...

Hi,

Your build has some good ideas - like the corvette interior, plaster used for roof liner to give it a good texture, and using a second kit to produce a trailer. You've ended up with a unique model which is what hot rod and custom car modelling is all about.

Am I right in saying the model is based on an altered wheel base drag car? If so, we'll have to pretend that someone has converted a race car for the street!!
