48 Ford Convertible

Got the new '48 coupe kit from Revell as soon as I could, and full of enthusiasm from the nationals show, I started pulling bits out of it to build the old convertible as a lead sled. So far I have chopped the windshield, smoothed off the chrome trim, swapped in the Caddy grille and lowered the coupes lowered suspension even further (the axles are pretty much sitting on the rails now). I think I have the stance just about sorted now. Oh, and I have glued the engine halves together

I have made some good progress this week. The chassis and engine are just about done. Both of these are really nice pieces. I have wired the engine and added some basic fuel lines. The wheels are gonna wear the caddy caps, so i have painted them straight red, still not sure what colour to do the body...

This weekend, I have mostly been building a tuck'n'roll interior, using the stock interior as the base.

A coat of white primer and a bit of black detailing and it should look good.

Got some paint and clear coat on the '48 over last couple of days. The paint is Halfords Ford Pepper Red, which really comes alive in the sun.

Right, it's finished! Just glued the last bits on this morning. I don't have access to a camera today, but will hopefully get pics posted Friday.
