Here's a (hopefully) quick and easy project. Andy and Lee are also building these at the moment, so a row of these on display at Telford should look cool. The chassis and body will be pretty much box stock( don't worry the doors will be glued shut) but the wheels are gonna be from an old Johan funny car kit. The engine will be from the AMT 33 Willys, the blown Ford SOHC cammer motor. Colour should be blue with Speed engineering decals.

Always loved that kit, especially the art work for the original issue. But, even after a load of reissues, the engine is still horrible (and I don't think anyone ever actually ran an Austin with a SOHC motor), the front axle is too wide for the body, later reissues came with a really weird dropped front axle as well and I've never seen an issue with wheels that I liked!
It's got under my skin though as I've built two in the past and number three is on the "to do" list.

It's looking great already, good stance.
By the way I've been after a set of those Panella Trucking decals for a while, do you have any plans for them? Is there anything you need that we could maybe make a swap for?
Cheers Mike

Here's a quick update for ya. I've glued the doors in, cut the grill out at the front and made a mesh grill. Earlier today I also got to shoot some primer on it. Could be a while before it gets paint as I may have to enlarge the hole in the bonnet for the blower:). Harley, totally agree on the kit engine, it really is junk, and the wheels are very poor, that's why I've swapped everything out! Mike, I'm sure I can do you a deal, got any cool gasser decals you wanna swap? Dave

Got a lot of decals Dave, if there's anything you're especially after let me know, otherwise I'll have a search thru my boxes and PM you with details of anything that's surplus. Thanks M

Made a little progress today. The Austin now has "real" headlights, robbed off a '49 Ford, instead off the horrible hubcaps(??) that come in the kit. Must get paint and the engine done next. Onwards.

Here's a quick update after way too long. I did paint this little beasty a couple of month's ago, but ballsed it up and ignored it for too long . So last week I dug it out again, rubbed down the paint and resprayed it. Thankfully it came out much better this time. It aint perfect, but it will be covered with decals anyway. The Austin is now wearing those funky M&H whitewall slicks from the Kats at AMT (they really are cool) and is getting a two tone blue and white interior.
