How many of you knew the Brookwood was one of Chevy's wagon models? Lee Croden recently donated a '59 El camino front axle to me for another project but he also included a full chassis too, so it immediately went under this Modelhaus body that needed a LOT of work to be usable. Everyone says how wonderful Modelhaus are but the roof on this thing wasn't even on straight - in the third pic you might just see that the rear pillar needed a 2mm spacer putting in to get the top of the back window level, and the bloody thing's warped across the roof. The body (which AMT did) is fine, the freaking roof is warped I've been hacking away at the roof and pillars to try to straighten things out. Not impressed for £40 and 7 weeks wait, anyway... plan is for a mild kustom/surf wagon. What I'd be driving aged 18 if I'd been born in Cali around 1946. 283 or maybe 327 with triple carbs, Vette valve covers, a Hurst 4 on the floor, nosed and decked, twin pipes, Cali rake with 5 spokes, maybe painted white with a blue or red flake roof and a few decals in the windows. That's the plan anyway but don't hold your breath, it takes me YEARS to finish these things ;D better photos will follow once I make some progress

Nice start and cool plans - sounds like you build as fast as me (and everyone else on here)! Come on guys, lighter nights coming, we gonna see some building?

I'm planning to get a few projects to the paint stages on the assumption that we'll have some warm days coming.
Sun was out today but the air still isn't warm enough for paint applied outside to dry without blooming.

I swear this damn thing is cursed, it took a high dive off the shelf and broke the roof off along one side, was in two mnds whether to repair it but I've gone ahead and glued it all back together.
We'll see how bad it is when it's had a coat of primer.
