I've started a quick build of AMT's old '32 roadster kit. This will be a very simple build, because I'd like to get it done soon! I have rodded it already. The engine is the Olds with triple carbs from the AMT 40 Ford sedan. The engine mounts have been raised to clear the exhaust. The front end is the dropped I beam from the 40 Ford as well. I have sectioned the grille, which will have a mesh insert. The body will be rusted out. This should be fun!!!

Hi,
Looks like it'll be an interesting build. Its good to see people getting the old kits together and giving them some life!
Cheers,
Jim

Might go for a Studebaker vibe with this, using the wheels and engine from the old AMT kit, whitewall tyres, and some rusty bits of bodywork...

Made some progress today with the beater. The engine is now a Studebaker lump, with a home made triple carb set up. The wheels are '32 wires with skinny whitewalls. The grill is aluminium mesh. I have painted most of it matt black, with a freshly welded in replacement panel on the drivers side, and a few rusty bits around the side and rear.
