Was there on Saturday, hot and sunny until about 4.30 when it started to rain. Took about 600 photos (oops!), some of which I'm in the process of uploading to photobucket (3mb each takes a while ). Took lots of 'pretty' shots but also some detail shots, mainly of engines too which may be of more use to us as modellers. I have just started a Flikr account so may upload those there.

Some great photos there, Andrew. Love the pic of Gonzo the Great Topolino pulling a wheelie. I remember seeing that car race at York 20+ years ago!!!

Dave, are you living a parallel life to me ;D? I used to go to York but haven't been since I was 18 or 19 (nearly 30 years ago - gulp!). Just got a scanner and copied some pics from an old album before they disintegrate. The lady sitting next to the Bandag Bullit is my mum - she got to ride the strip in it! My best two shots at the time - I heard the announcer at Shakey say that Jean Tidswells' son was racing there!

Love the pics from York, I don't have any as nice as those. Must look at going there next year and see what's happening. Jean's son is racing the Problem Child Pop gasser.

Spooky! I had such a good time at Shakey I was thinking of going to York next year! Maybe have to meet up there to prove you aren't my alter ego ;D
