Looks worringly similar in concept to a Japanese body kit I saw that turned an early model Micra into a Morris 1100. I have no idea why anyone would want to do that either (but then I've never understood the Japanese).
Or maybe it really is a Jag that's been left out in the rain too long and shrunk....

Mitsuoka Viewt .
They are, I believe, based on Nissan Micra's.
Almost indistinguishable at the front from a Mk II Jaguar. LOL.
