Well, the dust has settled and I'm now resident on the Isle of Man. There's still about a gazillion boxes to unpack (I haven't dared look at the state of the built up kits yet) but a modelling space is beginning to take shape.
Looks like I'm OK for modelling basics as at least there is one model shop on the Island but kits and parts are going to have to be via the post. The shop does have a very odd 1/24 scale kit of a vintage electric tram which is massively detailed (at £100 it should be!) and I keep thinking there's a really over the top show rod to be had in there somewhere - keep the stock outside and interior but maybe drop a Ferrari 12 under the floorboards.
Bad news is that I may have to pass on Telford as I think mentioning more expenditure might be risking severe domestic dischord.
And yes, the track is about 100 yards from the new house, hearing vintage Nortons etc at full throttle at 6.30 in the morning during practice week was surreal. Brilliant but surreal.

Hi,
Shame you won't be at Telford. Hope the settling in process goes well. The internet is great so I'm sure your modelling needs will be met! We may even be able to help if you ask us nicely...
Cheers,
Jim
