Great to see a Hot Rod on the cover of an IPMS magazine, and an excellent article to boot! Lots of great reference material for people new to our kind of models. Oh, and the model's quite nice as well! Great job, Jim.

Yes, congratulations, only been a member 11 months but is that right that it's the first time a hot rod has ever been featured? About time we changed that! Great paint finish and nice to see some of the aftermarket stuff used, been looking at the grille myself and wondered if it was worth ordering but it looks amazing! Could I make one observation though? I know hot rods and customs by definition are made how the owner wants but I think someone putting that effort into the paint etc wouldn't leave the front wishbones - which have such prominence - in a 'cast' condition (In my opinion ;D)

Interesting to note in the Editorial that this is a deliberate widening of the material used in the magazine.
Let's see if the race car boys can come up with something to keep the four wheeled ball rolling!

Did you not like my 'vette then?
John the editor has one of my race car builds already written up and i'm working on a bit of Italian Exotica (or Erotica) for next year as well.

I liked your 'vette very much and I don't mind articles on any vehicle - including race cars, just that my preference is hot rods and customs (or any Yank) so that's why I suggest we all submit articles ;D Nice to have you over here though!

Hi, Thanks for the comments guys. I got back from holiday yesterday and found the IPMS magazine waiting for me and was very suprised to see my car on the front cover! Having the rod on the cover helps advertise our section of the hobby and also helps combat the opinion that IPMS members are all military modellers. I wish I had mentioned the SIG in the article (or this forum) but I'll have the model on our table this year at SMW so hopefully it'll draw some people in to talk to us. THC, I enjoyed your article on the 'vette very much - in fact I've got some vettes to build myself so the article will be useful. Its good to see more civilian projects in the magazine so lets hope more people submit articles. Cheers, Jim
