Clearly some fell on deaf ears.
Question: Wheels? Matt alu or Chrome with body colour inserts?
Got the trims sorted to my satisfaction more primer on.
Photos later.

Chrome then again, you've dechromed? What colour are your going for eventually? (all the pics have Red X'd on my view?) How about white wheels?

I've got a bottle of Red Candy and some silver and gold base coats. I was thinking about a two tone base colour under the candy. On the other hand I have a bottle of candy blue as well.
Pin striping is at the front of my brain as well right now.
So many ideas so little time.

Here are a couple of pictures to show where its at tonight. Still not sure about leaving the little metal trim at the bottom of the pillars. It may go yet. Still loads of sanding and reshaping to go. THC

I've got all the trim off now and I'm working on sharpening up the edges of the headlight surrounds, reprofiling the rear window opening and quilting the dashboard top.
Starting to look more and more complete now.
Still a way off paint yet though.

Made a little progress tonight and late last night. Body fully primed now, gonna look to polish the primer tomorrow and possibly get a base coat on thereafter.

With the Skull Rod out of the way my attention has returned to the Galaxie. I decided that the rear of the car just wasn't right. I sketched up a couple of alternative treatments for it and decided that the fins were the problem. They were just not radical enough. So a few strokes of a razor saw, some thickish plasticard and a dollop or two of thick poly cement and we have prototype fin extensions. I've tidied the one up so far, it just needs thinning now with sanding sticks to match the front section. I took the opportunity to dummy up the tail lights at the same time. I like it. THC

Disaster: Just popped the rim of the tail light housing and it broke up in front of my eyes. Wouldn't mind but it was coming on a treat at that point. Got it all back together in an approximation of where it was before. Loads of filler and sanding now required to get it back in shape. THC

After an evening split evenly between writing up my build of the Airfix WRC Fiestas for Airfix Mag, rubbing down extra filler on the Galaxie and watching the Nascar Sprint Cup from Texas the Glalxie looks a lot better. I hope to have it in at least full primer and test assembly mode at Telford. If I can get some colour on it I will but I doubt I can in the time I have left. I'm not rushing it now that's for sure!

The fin extensions look good and I'm pleased to hear that the damage to the tail light housing has been repaired.

Been working on this again tonight. Got the fins finessed and a couple of coats of grey primer on which showed up a few minor touch ups and fiddly bits which I can sort tomorrow/later. Should have the base white primer on it tomorrow night and then some silver before the weekend. I'll have it at Telford as a wip. THC

The model received lots of positive comments at Telford which was nice.
However during the duration of the event or somehow during the return journey it suffered a bad knock which has damaged one of the rear fins and the passenger side front light housing. So out with the filler and back to the filler, sand, primer, repeat process.
More when there is some.
