I've always liked that kit (in all its incarnations), just a shame it's so basic inside! I'm sure that will be corrected as part of this build though!

Hi,
I'm with Harley - I'm sure you'll do a good job of giving this kit some good detail work to go with the cool body!
Cheers,

Totally agree with you guys, a really cool old kit. Built mine as a flamed gasser many years ago. Looking forward to seeing this one progress.

Viper powered VW sounds cool. I fancy building a Baja Beast like this one.

thats one cool ride. ;D ;D
its been ages since i have done anything on this beast, but with music events, birthdays, and me building a star wars vehicle, namely the Millenium Falcon, i have gotten a bit side tracked. however, while searching for parts to detail Han Solo's hotrod, i came across a Tamiya Ferrari F50. originally i was going to put a Ford V8 coupled with a Viper gearbox. but seeing the V12, well i think you can guess where the V12 is going. ;D ;D

Steve, feel free to ignore this but the more I look at that body work the less I'm convinced by the shape of the window on the side opening. The cabin window openings have a sharp leading edge which gives them a really purposeful look (he said getting all poncey) but the side opening doesn't really match that look. Maybe if you opened up the side window so that, as you look at it, the right hand edge was parallel to the edge of the door? Make the two windows look like a pair of curved teeth?
Probably too much coffee this afternoon.......

;D ;D or the ends of surf boards? i have made some more progress after the hot rod shows, gigs and holiday. i have modyfied the chassis/floor so that the ferrari V12 now fits. changed the centre door window, and the rear lights as i wasn't happy with the way they looked. ;D ;D

That Ferrari motor looks right at home there.

Hi,
Thanks for updating us - looks like the build is coming along well. A Ferrari V12 exhaust note would be pretty cool coming out of this custom!
Cheers,

I think that might be the first time anyone has taken notice of my opinion on how a build looks!
Definitely sharpened up the looks.
